What your family gets

Two teachers. Familiar routines. Individual attention.

For nearly thirty-five years, Starbright has cared for Silicon Valley's youngest learners with warmth, individual attention, and genuine love for every child. At our cozy Cupertino/West San Jose campus, two teachers in every classroom help younger students build trust in new routines and become part of a close-knit community. In modern, sun-filled classrooms, experienced teachers connect four areas of development, so confidence in one area supports growth in all the others. Many of our teachers have taught at Starbright for over twenty years.

01

Cognitive

A written curriculum builds language, early literacy, number sense, patterns, spatial thinking, and the confidence to ask why.

02

Artistic

Daily music with live piano and guitar, art projects, dramatic play, and hands-on materials strengthen imagination and fine-motor skills.

03

Physical

Outdoor play, coordination, balance, movement, and practical self-care skills build growing independence.

04

Social-Emotional

Daily social-emotional learning helps children name feelings, practice empathy and cooperation, and build real friendships.

Lessons run 20 to 30 minutes, matched to a preschooler's attention span, and alternate with learning games, stories, and art.

03

Outdoor play, daily music, and a hot lunch prepared fresh by the chef in the campus kitchen.

04

Rest and enrichment

Children change into pajamas and rest in real beds while soft classical music plays. Afternoons bring more classroom time or optional onsite enrichment.

The teachers are incredibly nurturing, creative, and attentive to each child's needs. The class sizes are small, and it's a truly homey environment.

Come see it in person

Meet the teachers. See the classrooms.

The best way to know whether a preschool feels right is to see the day in motion. Our cozy Cupertino/West San Jose campus is on Albany Drive. Its family-like setting can feel especially reassuring for a two- or three-year-old starting preschool for the first time. In 2025, we thoughtfully reimagined every classroom around how young children learn. It was the biggest investment in the campus since it opened in 2000. Light, calm, and thoughtfully arranged, each room helps young students settle in, explore with confidence, and feel at home. Come meet the teachers and experience the daily rhythm for yourself.

Questions parents ask

What ages does the preschool serve?

Starbright is now enrolling ages 2 through 5, with preschool classrooms for ages 2 through 4, plus transitional kindergarten and kindergarten.

Is Starbright a preschool or full-day child care?

It is a licensed child care center that offers full-day hours, so it covers what most families mean by daycare. The campus is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and you choose three, four, or five days each week. Within those hours students follow an early childhood education curriculum refined through nearly thirty-five years of experience, eat four meals prepared in the campus kitchen, play outside, sing with live music, and rest in real beds. Every classroom has two teachers.

Is this a good fit for a child starting preschool for the first time?

Yes. Our Cupertino/West San Jose campus is cozy and family-like, with teachers who stay close, familiar routines, and time for young students to settle in at their own pace.

What are school hours?

Starbright is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The full day is included, so the schedule works with real work schedules.

How big are the classes?

Every classroom has two teachers. Across the school, classes average 18 students, about nine per teacher, so each child is known and looked after.

Are meals included?

Yes. Each campus has an onsite kitchen and a full-time chef. Students receive four meals daily: a fresh breakfast, a hot lunch prepared fresh that day, and two snacks, all included in tuition.

What languages do Starbright families speak?

Many. Starbright has always been a multilingual, multicultural community, a mirror of Silicon Valley itself. Instruction is in English, and parents from many backgrounds tell us they found a second family here.

How is tuition structured?

Choose a three-, four-, or five-day preschool schedule. For the 2026-2027 school year, tuition is $2,774 per month for five days, $2,455 for four days, or $1,830 for three days. Every schedule includes the full day from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and four meals daily. Optional Enrichment Programs are available for an additional fee. View all tuition and Enrichment Program rates.

What happens after I request a tour?

Your request is saved before you choose a tour time. You can choose from the available tour times or ask Starbright to arrange the visit with you. Requests received Monday through Friday between 10 AM and 3 PM typically receive a personal response within a few hours. Requests that arrive outside those hours are answered the next school day.

Looking back, Starbright was probably our best decision.
